RESPONSES DUE April 30th
Dear Fellow Pickleballers,
Last year we had a Pickleball trial league that was formed with 6 teams of players that had skill ratings of 3.5 to 4.0. The teams came from Wadsworth, Akron, Green, Jackson, North Canton and Medina. This spring we are going to expand on the experiment and form a league of 6-10 teams from different cities that will start play on May 15 or thereabouts. The season will last between 8-10 weeks depending on the final number of the teams that sign up.
Basically, what I am looking for from you is to gauge the interest of our Association as to how many teams we could provide for this competition.
Attached is the format of the leagues which will consist of the following:
Men’s 3.0 - 3.5 rating
Men’s 3.5 - 4.0 rating.
Women’s 3.0 – 3.5 rating
Women’s 3.5 – 4.0 rating
Mixed 3.0 – 3.5 rating
Mixed 3.5 – 4.0 rating.
To have a competing team in any category we will need to have 4 teams consisting of two players; for example, Men’s 3.5 – 4.0 will need to consist of a minimum of 8 players plus hopefully 2-4 subs. Cost per team is $160 or $20 per person. Subs will help possibly help pay for some of the costs depending how much they play. If we do not have enough players we will possibly get other players from other areas to fill a team, for instance getting payers from another club or Wadsworth for instance.

We really know if you will be committed or would possibly prefer being a sub who will most likely play fairly often. We will also need to have help with some team leaders to get involved with scheduling of the league play. Scheduling is done by communicating with the other team leader and figuring out good dates and times at the various courts available for use. Please let Tom know if you would volunteer to be a team leader.
