Beginning this Sunday, 11/7 we will have play available on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. throughout November. We have received response from many players who are interested in playing at this time. Even if you didn’t respond please feel free to come and play at that time. Currently during the week most players come on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Now that the weather is changing more players are coming on those mornings. If it works for your schedule you may want to consider coming on Tuesday and Thursday mornings if you feel it is too crowded on the other days. You may want to arrange this with other players with who you are accustomed to playing. MCRC has ordered a fourth net and when it arrives we will be able to tape a fourth court and leave the tape down. This is something that Carol and I have requested many times in the past. It is finally happening. On the occasional morning that the high school uses that space we will have to take the net down immediately upon their arrival. We will advise you when the net arrives. We will now have more opportunities to play at MCRC than we have ever had before. Looking forward to seeing you on the courts!
Hi Pickleball Friends, Here is a neat article recently published in Vanityfair.com: How Pickleball Won Over Everyone From Leonardo DiCaprio to Your Grandparents | Vanity Fair The USAP voted on some rule changes that will go in effect January 1. They mostly apply to officiate play in tournaments but two things to note: the provisional "drop" serve rule has been made a permanent rule. This "drop" will now be called a "bounce serve" and the traditional/original serve will be called a "volley serve".
A rule change that applies to me is that "extra balls may not be carried in your hand"... there goes my advantage!
